Lion Brand Yarn is one of my favorite yarn brands I have been using recently due to how soft the texture is and the colors are eye-catching. One thing to note when using this is the thickness of the yarn and will need a hook that is a bit bigger, but not a chunky yarn hook.
Between the Susan Bates and Boye hook brands, I do prefer the first due to the hook design. It also catches less on the yarn threads, which makes Susan Bates' rounded hooks my preference.
Above is a reference video from a Youtuber explaining more about the different crochet hooks. I am subscribed to her channel and definitely worth a look for crochet references.
My crochet hooks and yarn scissors I got from the thrift store and the acrylic one from Amazon. The scissors I got from Walmart as well as one of the hooks (gold one).
